Rinden homenaje a David Bowie en Londres, Nueva York y Berlín [+Fotos]

Fans de todo el mundo han rendido homenaje a David Bowie en todos los lugares conocidos donde vivió, en Londres, Nueva York e incluso Berlín, donde el artista se refugió a fines de la década de 1970 para encontrar la inspiración perdida.

Decenas de ramos de flores, velas y escritos inundaron el portal de la calle Lafayette, en el barrio neoyorquino del Soho, donde vivía Bowie y donde sus fans quisieron rendirle tributo tras su fallecimiento a causa de un cáncer a los 69 años.

Los admiradores del músico británico, referencia para muchos artistas contemporáneos, se fueron acercando a la que fuera su residencia en Manhattan para dar su particular adiós al compositor.

Algunos de los admiradores del vocalista, visiblemente afectados, acudieron con lentes de sol y en silencio, abrumados por "una noticia inesperada y dolorosa", puesto que tanto el músico británico como su familia mantuvieron su estado de salud en secreto.

De hecho, hace solo dos días Bowie publicaba su vigésimo quinto álbum, el último de toda una carrera que empezó en los años 60 y que marcó a más de una generación.

La muerte de Bowie, que el pasado viernes cumplió 69 años, tocó de cerca a sus vecinos neoyorquinos, con los que mantenía una curiosa relación de proximidad.

Otro de los puntos donde se concentraron algunas muestras de cariño por parte de los admiradores fue el New York Theatre Workshop, situado a apenas cinco calles de su residencia, donde Bowie tenía previsto actuar en la obra musical "Lazarus" junto al dramaturgo irlandés Enda Walsh el próximo 20 de enero.

Además, seguidores se reunieron anoche junto a su mural en el barrio londinense de Brixton para celebrar a su ídolo cantando sus canciones. Personas de distintas edades y procedencias se congregaron en ese distrito, donde Bowie nació en 1947, y entonaron sus temas al ritmo de alguna guitarra y otros instrumentos en una fiesta callejera improvisada para homenajear al legendario músico.

Los presentes, algunos con maquillaje de fantasía, al estilo de su héroe, compartieron su emoción por la muerte de Bowie cantando temas como "Ground Control to Major Tom" o "Suffragette City".

Delante del mural situado en la pared de los almacenes Morleys, que muestra a Bowie como en la portada de su disco de 1973 "Aladdin Sane", se acumulan los ramos de flores, velas, fotografías y mensajes en honor del influyente músico.

La noticia de la muerte en Nueva York del autor de clásicos como "Starman" y "Space Oddity" se anunció el lunes en su página de Facebook, donde se reveló que padecía cáncer desde hacia 18 meses.

Su defunción se produjo dos días después de que el pasado viernes saliera a la venta su último álbum, "Blackstar", que, según su productor y amigo personal Tony Visconti, es "un regalo de despedida".
